New Milford readers—act now! According to the latest update from the Friends of the New Milford Public Library, their 2024 Annual Summer Book Sale will be the final event for at least two years, directly due to the library’s major construction.
The sale takes place July 11–13, 2024, at New Milford High School, and it’s your last opportunity to stock up on affordable, gently used books before the program goes on a multi-year pause.
Official 2024 Schedule (as confirmed on the event page):
- Thursday, July 11: Early Bird Hour (9–10 a.m.) – $5 admission | Free entry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 12: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, July 13: Final Day – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all books at half price!
Genres include fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, cookbooks, biographies, and more—perfect for summer reading, classroom supplies, or building a home library.

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”
With no sales scheduled in 2025 or 2026, this is truly your final chance until the library reopens in 2027.
